What HideID is

HideID is an iPhone app that guides you through removing your personal information from people-search and data-broker sites using each site's official opt-out process. You find your own listing on each site; HideID doesn't search for you. You submit each broker's opt-out form yourself; HideID guides the process and keeps a record of what you submitted on your iPhone; while you're signed in, the first submission you record for each site (the site and its date) is also kept on your account. Sites you mark removed, and anything recorded before you signed in, stay on your iPhone.

If you sign in, HideID can also check whether your email address appears in known data breaches: the email you check is sent through the HideID API to Have I Been Pwned, as described in the Privacy Policy. A result reflects only the breaches Have I Been Pwned knows about; it is not a guarantee.

Availability and changes

HideID is provided "as is," may contain bugs, and may change or be discontinued at any time. Features the app does not offer — such as automatic removal, broker monitoring and reappearance alerts — are not promised by these terms.

No guarantee of removal

Data brokers control their own removal processes. HideID cannot guarantee that any broker will accept, process, or honor an opt-out request, or that removed information will not reappear. Status information in the app reflects what you and the app have recorded, not a guarantee about a broker's behavior.

Payments

HideID is free. There is nothing to buy in the app. If paid features are offered in the future, their price and billing period will be shown before any purchase.

Acceptable use

Use HideID only for your own personal information, or information you are legally authorized to manage. Do not use the app to submit false opt-out requests or to interfere with any third-party service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HideID and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of HideID, including actions taken or not taken by data brokers.
